The Ministry Released alerts on humanitarian situation

Owing to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the State, the ministry announced increasing humanitarian concerns due droughts, food insecurity and high rate of malnutrition. The alerts is attached below

Monitoring the Humanitarian situation in the State

The Ministry has been closely monitoring the humanitarian situation in South West State and the situation has been deteriorating. There are increases food price, malnutrition, scarcity of water in many parts of the State.

Meeting with Donor;

Between October 26th to November 4th in Nairobi I met with the Donor to mobilize resources. The Donors I met include FCA UK, USAID, Norway Embassy, European Commission Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), Switzerland Embassy, Netherlands Embassy and German Embassy.

I presented to the Donors the state humanitarian situation and current challenges faced.

During the meeting I shared that the area of intervention should prioritized the following areas:

  1. Provision of live saving for food security through conditional and unconditional cash transfer
  2. Creation of livelihood and income generation activities.
  3. Supply of nutritional supplements and services.
  4. Provision of access to clean water to IDPs and vulnerable communities.
  5. Support logistics cluster for airlifting services to the districts that are inaccessible by road.
