On 11^st October 2021, the Ministry hosted emergency meeting on eviction from Lascanood. The meeting was attended by Line ministries,

UNOCHA, INGOs & LNGs to discuss issues related to the response plans for those people forcefully displaced from Laas-Caanood that arrived in Baidoa. The meeting also discussed the coordination and response plan efforts to the displaced people by the partners operating in SWS. Thousands of people evicted from lascanood have reached Baidoa in October 2021. South West State received and accommodated the effected people in temporary shelters in Baidoa. The ministry encouraged the humanitarian partners to support the evicted people immediate assistance.
