On 15th November 2021, The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the South West State of Somalia led a humanitarian delegation to the Wajid district in the Bakool region. The visit was part of efforts to assess the humanitarian conditions in Wajid District due to the prevailing drought, water shortages and the living conditions of families displaced by Al-Shabaab militants from neighboring villages to Wajid.
The envoys inspected IDP camps, water wells, and markets in the district, met with the District Administration, Agencies, various community members, and discussed and updated each other on the Humanitarian Situation in Wajid District of Bakool region and ways of accelerating urgent interventions.
